I have been asked by a few of the members on how I would assess the service to date?
Well the blunt answer to that is it’s been DISAPPOINTING.
For the first 3 months of the service we were basically treading water, not achieving a high enough strike rate with the odds that were winning with to sustain any form of profit.
What we couldn’t do was get any form of consistency whatsoever which was very frustrating indeed, because that was the basis of the whole service in the first place.
We were still getting a good range of wins across the odds but just not enough.
At this point I wasn’t ready to push the panic button, but I was looking for any trends to see if anything different was happening. As you know my selections are chosen from a set of ratings that I use and basically I have a data base into which the ratings are downloaded so when I press the go button I will get contenders from a list off pre-empted ratings.
In turn there are different ratings for different race types and distances.
So there is a lot of data to look at daily but a task I have managed to control time wise.
Then we hit January 2015 and it all seemed like we were going to have a turn around with a fair start to the month up until around the 10th when it all decided to go “Pete Tong.” It seemed that the 4 mini systems used for the service decided to give up the ghost and all start losing at the same time with consummate ease which was very disturbing and when thrown in with some horrendous luck when selections were snatching defeat from seemingly winning positions.
Okay these things are out of our hands but it does effect the service as a whole because I started to question what I was doing, you as members probably stop betting the selections and when the turnaround comes you miss it.
Because of this I made a decision to totally immerse myself into the service to find out what was going wrong because in all reality I’m not in the business of losing and I want to provide a good consistent service to be proud of.
Whilst doing the a fore mentioned (for which I haven’t finalised my findings as of yet) I have found a small difference of where the ratings were finding the winners consistently they were now falling just outside of the parameters of the ratings used, so I will be tweaking these out slightly and see where we fair from there. In reality we may not see an immediate difference but we will.
As you know nothing is guaranteed in life nor is it in our betting, but if we strive to learn from what we have been doing and apply those lessons to what we are about to do we will more often than not come out on top.
Though at the moment we are not in a great place profit wise , it goes without saying that we will come out the other side as our luck and the losing runs cannot go on forever.
I have always been open and honest with regard to the service and will always answer any questions directed my way, which you may do in reply to this article or you can also contact me here at MC Racing , or if you prefer you can always contact support and I’m sure they will pass on any queries.
All The Best,
Mick
Hi Mick,
Sorry, but I have just left your service. Today was just the last straw.
I say this with great sadness because I liked you and I liked your way of betting : not too may selections that take an hour to bet on and a huge bank, and consistent stakes. And I liked the fact that you followed up and commented on the day before, and your honesty (I didn’t even know how to access your “blog”). I think I gave you a good run (4 months +) because of that and because your performance during the “Proofing” period had been so good.
But four months of losses is too much. I’m not in the business of losing money either. Sadly this is the case with 90% of tipsters : a magnificent start followed, immediately after joining, by total collapse. My records filing cabinet is bunged up with such. The previous one to you was Emma James’s “Revolution betting” , an absolutely stunning start followed by appalling performance since.
Perhaps your long-awaited turnaround will come, perhaps not. Anyway, when ? All tipsters say that. There is such a thing as cutting your losses. The old purse is not bottomless.
I leave you with a couple of (hopefully constructive comments) :
– Your 1 1/2 pt. E/W selections have not produced a single winner ever. Give them up. There is a reason for long odds.
– Don’t bet on 5f races. They’re a complete lottery. The favourite hardly ever wins, and then the odds are not worth it. When is the last time you found a 5f winner ?
With great regret.
Roger.
Hi Roger,
I’m sorry to see you go, but as you said you gave it a good go and that is all I could ask of anyone your comments are also taken on board and yes the purse is definitely not bottom less.
I wish you all the well in your future betting activities.
All The Best
Mick
I have to say that I am extremely annoyed with the performance of your service. After all the hype from Betfan (who I am beginning to trust less and less) I was expecting a service that at least would keep it’s head above water during the lean times, which I know will happen in tipping. However, the performance has been nothing but disgraceful. I joined on 12th November and I now find myself 116 points down, that is £1160 before subscription costs as I bet at £10 per point.
In your blog you refer to people that stop betting the selections and then miss the ‘turnaround’. I am not one of these people but I damn well wish I had of been! Three months is a long enough period to make a decision on whether a service will provide profits and yours will not – I have seen these signs many times before, stuck with them and lived to regret it.
Betfan and yourself should be ashamed about taking money off loyal customers and at very least should refund the quarterly subscription – but I know from experience that this will not happen because there are no morals in the tipster world. My time with Betfan as a whole is nearing the end.
Hi Quentin,
I’m sorry that you feel the way that you do and if you have followed any of my comments on my facebook or emails you will know that I’m also disappointed with the service so far and have been doing my best to turn things around. I have always been open and up front, and will continue to do so but losing streaks are not for every body but are part of the game.I certainly do not like them much myself but as a pro bettor I also have other system/stratergies in my portfolio to combat such streaks, so it all swings in roundabouts. I know that’s not what you want to here but as bettors that we have to do.
I wish you well in all your future betting activities.
Mick
