Described by his publisher as The Ultimate Greyhound Tipster, Michael has been offering his selections since 2014. Advice is by email (or if preferred a members area is available on the website) and will offer reasoning behind selections and pricing information. Most selections are straight win bets but there is the occasional each way or multiple to keep life interesting.
A betting bank of 100 points is advised and each selection is individually staked up to 5 points the average being around the 3 mark. No bet days are still advised and normally emails are received by mid afternoon on the day of racing. As with all Betting Gods services the presentation is professional and subscribers should be able to follow the service easily. Results are updated promptly and accurately on the site.
In a former life I reviewed this service in 2014/15 and so far the pattern seems to be pretty similar. A slow start with a 50% drawdown on the bank then redeemed by a run of 4 consecutive winners which all but recovered the losses seen. The main difference now is the lower volume of selections received with only 57 in nearly 3 months somewhat below the indication on the marketing page.
Prices have ranged up to 15.0 with an average of 4.84 and the best winner at 6.0. With 12 winners from the 57 advised bets the strike rate is 21% which is over 5% down on the service’s long term performance. We started the review after a strong 3 months where profits of more than 140 points were seen and so perhaps some adjustment was likely.
Although we are not seeing a profit yet past experience indicates that there could still be a worthwhile outcome here. The subscription at a very low £10 per month is hardly a factor and there could be an argument for joining now rather than wait for the good times to come back and miss out.
If you are treating your betting activities as an investment rather than an entertainment then a diverse portfolio is essential. Greyhounds are often overlooked as a component in the equation and this does not make sense if you are really looking to spread your risk. A look at the overall history of this service will demonstrate the potential if care is exercised.
For the time being I am going to classify as neutral and continue to monitor along with the other greyhound service (The Judge) as this could be a tortoise and hare situation. Certainly a genuine service and the low entry cost allows a look without great risk.
Final Update 1/7/2018
June saw a marked improvement with a 29 point profit taking the bank into the black for the first time in 5 months. A run of 4 consecutive winners was seen and past experience shows that sustained profitable periods are possible. The outcome did not match the Judge who piled on more than 120 points profit in June.
Regrettably, the publisher has seen fit to stop the review access for questionable reasons and so we cannot report further.
