Many punters now use a betting bot or want to take precautions to protect their privacy from spying eyes or need to be able to access their betting accounts wherever in the world they might be. Others are in areas where the power supply can be interrupted and so their device ceases to function and may miss placing bets already programmed in ready to be set.
The more serious your betting becomes the more important it is to have a fully reliable means of ensuring your bets are placed as you want them so I would like to discuss one method of achieving this – the Virtual Private Server or VPS
Please don’t be put off by the technical aspects when considering if you should use a VPS. If you are already using a pc or a smartphone then a VPS will not give you any problems when running one. What you are effectively doing is running a second pc from the comfort of your own home or office which is achieved by running a simple app. (A word here to Apple Mac users – most VPS options are Windows based but this does not preclude your using them) This is a powerful capability offering the user many benefits including:
Remote Access from almost any device
Protection from Power Failures
Internet connection always maintained
No device performance issues
Privacy can be maintained
Just reading this article means you have the technical knowledge needed to operate a VPS. It is as simple as opening an app on any device and by doing this you then will be able to reach the remote desktop which is for your personal use. Here you can install programs and run these as you wish. The program will continue to run even if you break the connection to the desktop and turn off your main pc. When you want to check what has happened you just re- connect from any device and any location where there is an internet connection.
This facility is particularly useful for those who run their betting using bots. All you have to do is add your selections or set the bot running if it uses automatic settings and then you can get on with the rest of the day secure in the knowledge that the bot will function as intended whatever may happen at your home/office.
An additional use that may be valuable to some is that you can use a VPS to place the bets for someone else without compromising your own accounts. If you were asked to place bets for a family member because they are working and so cannot do this you may encounter issues with the bookies if you use the same device as the one you normally bet from. Even using a second device in the same house will not help as you will be giving out the same Internet location from both and the bookies are quick to link accounts if they have any reason to do so. So operating a VPS for your friend/relative will allow you to help them and maintain your independence.
Setting up a VPS is very simple although you should make sure you know what you are trying to achieve before starting out. If you are wanting to place bets for a third party then you should choose a VPS that offers an internet location in the country of residence of that person. If you are UK based and try to use a server located in the US the bookies will smell a large rat and you could have raised an adverse marker on the file before you even place a bet! There are many different VPS offerings and the main criterion to look for is the guaranteed up time (less than 99.5% and avoid!) as well as the size of the memory available to you – if you are only running 1 bot or similar program then you do not need so much as if multi use is required. An absolute minimum is 1gb and I would suggest that 2gb is better as it will allow you to do more once you realise the potential of the set up.
Costs will vary depending on the spec of your server and the degree of back up support that is available. If you are unsure about a service make an enquiry to the support team before you buy and see how quickly and how helpfully they respond. I tried a couple when first looking around and they did not even bother to answer the email – a good pointer that you could encounter difficulties in the future. Prices range from £5 per month upwards – I would expect to pay between £15 and £30 per month for a robust service that would give me a minimum of hassle. (See below for special offer) If you search for VPS Hosting in your browser you will find a wide range of choices. A long standing acquaintance of mine uses Tagadab with minimal problems and most of the main website builders offer such a facility. Be sure to choose one that offers a Windows package as most betting bots will only operate in a Windows environment. Most will offer a short free trial or minimal cost entry to allow you to make sure that what you have ordered is what you actually need.
I am sure there will be members already using VPS facilities and it would doubtless help others if you can share your thoughts on the thread. You could help your fellow punters avoid falling into the traps that the bookmakers set for us!
No doubt after reading the above you want to get started on installing a VPS! Well if you do I have managed to arrange a special deal for Bet World Review Members using a company that specialises in betting and so understands the specific needs of our community. Called BettingDev the company offers several betting products and as a result of their needing a bot for some of these decided to set up their own special VPS designed specifically for punters, especially those using bots.
Full details of the service can be found on this link – and I have prepared a short video showing how it all works. You not only receive a good quality VPS but the operators will install whichever bot you would like on the server for you so you would be able to get going straight away. As a bonus you will receive the Profit Simulator tool free of charge which allows you to analyse your betting activities readily. In addition the server is automatically set up to prevent the bookmakers loading IESnare in their usual manner so if you check out the article here you will already have some protection in place. The customer support is second to none and you have a 7 day refund available if you find the service is not what you wanted.
If you haven’t considered using a VPS then perhaps you should and with the special offer we have put in place you can do so risk free. Click here for the details
