Andy Bell’s Racing Diary

December 1, 2013 By admin Leave a Comment

November Ends on a High.

Monday 25th. Yesterdays free tip was absolute crap and a total embarrassment and was never at the races, which was very disappointing because the info I had received was very strong, although all my members had a good winning day thanks to the last race at Naas and a fantastic SP of 3/1 on SHESAFOXYLADY.

So very nice to finish another week on a high and a winning note (88pts profit for the month so far).

My goal which starts today, is to smash the 100 points profit barrier again for this month and build on it.

An early morning advice for all my clients as I think EVEN money is a steel on HIGHLAND RETREAT in the 1-30k and we all need to have a MAXIMUM bet as I have tissued this up at 2s on.

(Also I have another very sensitive one, which I can not put up as an open tip, or mention any names in here, so again I give all my clients another “liddle love note” advising to back this now nameless maiden at 11/2ew).

In my 11am update I advise that we need to back the Huntingdon faller TOPTHORN at Ludlow today as it has schooled well since its bad fall and is going to be backed and at 9/1 its a good ew bet.

Finally and not by any means least NICHOLS AND DIMES is having its first run for the Richard Fahy stable since leaving John Gosdens and is fully expected to break its maiden tag. As I said if I had not already put up a MAXIMUM bet earlier this most certainly would of been one so I settle for less and advise taking the 11/10 on offer.

Talk about being organised, when I was having my morning phone call with Father, he only informed me he was off Christmas shopping. I was amazed as me and “The Great Alfonze” have now made Christmas eve one of our annual pilgrimages. Catching the bus at 8am and arriving in the city at 9am, before all you knockers start, it is very quiet the queues and bustling pushchairs are now a thing of the past.

Part of the now military precision shopping trip surrounds finishing up at Debenhams, where if we are lucky a lovely smiley little lady wraps all our presents for us while we retire to the Murders Pub (that is honestly the name). We then pick up our perfectly wrapped pressys, dropping off a large bottle of baileys to Nora, then proceed to drop them off at the bus pickup point before crossing the road to the Guinness pub, where we remain until we catch the 4pm bus home in time to meet the boys in the Chequers and then home for 6pm in time to finish of under the Christmas tree with my parcels.

HIGHLAND RETREAT is always well in control at a very well backed 4/7, making my tissue right, until, as always the last fence, where he just ploughs through it, but gratefully we have enough in hand to win going away again. Great start to the day.

I’m not totally convinced that TOPTHORN is totally over his crashing fall last time, he was certainly given a good sighter at every fence and kept out of trouble on the outside. a confidence booster maybe ? Mmmmmm !!!!

NICHOLS AND DIMES should of been a maximum bet and as he came out of the stalls I was glad I hadn’t put him up as that, although I had a big bet on him myself at 11/10, so part of me was pleased and part pissed off, ultimately a cracking ride and we have made it 2 winners on the day and should be very close to our weeks goal already of 100pts profit for the month.

For my clients only, little e mail message our “nameless charge” has been smashed off the boards and is now favourite (I’m not giving anymore away) AND WINS oi oi, so in all another fantastic winning day and we are very close to our 100pt goal, without our nameless 11/2 winner being included.

Tuesday 26th. Wonderful day for us again yesterday with 2 out of 3 winners and of course my little message which also won at 11/2 advised and was smashed in the betting to favouritism. I can not take credit from betfan for these little notes (like yesterdays), as I should not be giving them out, I just hope you all remember if things get tight or at re subscription time.

So close 99.8 points in profit, that’s cruel.

It’s very quiet here early doors, so I consider putting up 3pts win on Pipes 1/3 shot in the first to surpass our goal. Luckily AMIR PASHA comes in from the right faces, although not super strong, personally I back him small at 5/2 and advise my clients to do also.

A very ordinary days racing and the sun is shining so an opportunity to get the outside tables and chairs in and all the niggling pre winter chores done and re felt a shed roof, bet you all wanted to know that useless crap, just like the bollocks on facebook. (i.e. this morning I had a cup of tea, then feed the cat, changed the water in the goldfish bowl, watched Jeremy Kyle, OMG my child is just about to pour a kettle of hot water over his head) Grrrrr f**k**g sort it before writing it on facebook.

Sorry about my ranting and my mood is not made any better watching AMIR PASHA thinking he is beaten at least a couple of times, Jason Maguire never gives up and in the end outstays them all and wins going away.

Another winning day, all the chores done and all is well in Bellie boys household.

Wednesday 27th. Good morning, lets hope the winners keep rolling in and the profits rising.

A nice and early e mail this morning advising that the 9/4 on FATTSOTA needs hovering up as this is very well fancied and is going to be backed into favouritism.

The John Quinn stable landed us a big touch last week when FORCED FAMILY FUN bolted in by an eased 10 lengths, so I was sooooo pleased when this mornings mobile call told me that RUTHERGLEN is not far behind him at home and has schooled really well. This ex George Baker recruit was trading at 6/4, so I got Chatterbox and Smudger to back this for me and advised a large win bet.

Finally my bets were complete, when my form and figures were backed up by some good information on MARSHGATE LANE who was trading at 11/4.

A trip into Newmarket is on the cards today, as I have to sort out a big bet, which should be happening next week and I want to make sure all is ok, because I am going to have a swing at this and SO are you.

MARSHGATE LANE blows out and I not convinced he got the strongest of rides, maybe they have another day in mind. RUTHERGLEN does the business for us and runs out a very nice winner in the end.

FATTSOTA runs appalling and never looks like winning and trails in last as if something has gone a miss.

Thursday 28th. FATTSOTA broke a blood vessel I am informed this morning, I thought the run was too bad to be true.

Today we have 2 to back CLOUDINGSTAR and STONELIGHT ew. The racing doesn’t look very exciting but I suppose everybody are gearing up for the Newbury Festival starting tomorrow.

We didn’t trouble the scorers today which is a blow and wasn’t STONELIGHT smashed up in the betting from our 11/2 into 15/8, although it didn’t do us any good.

I need to get to Weatherspoons and find out the full story of how Hayley’s wine ended up on Miss Sweden’s skimpy little Vivian Westwood number.

Friday 29th. I have a day out planned with the Bungay boys (Tony the machine and Cabbage) trawling the local boozers, which will be more exciting then sitting on the M25 for hours on end on a Friday. That’s the only problem with Newbury races getting there and back.

The new hurdling recruit CHOCALA has been schooling really well at home and is quietly fancied to make a winning debut, so I advise taking the 11/4 and spread the news around the locals in the boozer.

Only half way down my 2nd pint and CHOCOLA is taken on for the lead, which was not the plan which results in him setting the race up for the Paul Nicholls charge and finishing a disappointing 3rd. Lots of sideway glances and not many offers of a beer coming my way, but hey, I tell them I have the winner of the Hennessy tomorrow at 10/1 which saves my eviction.

I am most impressed with the ex flat recruit MIJHAAR at Doncaster and I think we will be seeing him at Cheltenham in March.

We sneak bets up to the local bookmakers, which is next door to the chequers pub, due to being banned, we have Fozzy as our runner. Nothing major just a few £20s and the odd £40 to help pay for our beer money. We punt WONDERFUL CHARM at odds on and then put it all on CAROLS SPIRIT at 11/8 and for once a beer fuelled punt comes off and we cop all our Xs for the day.

Owen from BETOWEN pops in and has a pint with us and explains he has a maximum bet next week, so all you BETOWEN clients be on your toes, also he is having a very good month with over 40 points profit, so all our BETFAN clients must be happy at the moment.

Saturday 30th. Hennessy day and what a fantastic race it’s going to be as well, 10/1 the field one of the most open I can ever remember. I am not going to be present this year, which is a shame because it’s a race and a day I do enjoy immensely. With such an early start I find I can’t get all my work done in time as it would mean leaving home at around 9am.

I am told that Alan King has got INVICTIS as fit as he can at home and it’s very well fancied to go very well after such a long lay off. It’s trading at 10/1 paying the 1st 5 places so we need to take the 10s and back it ew.

Steve is once again all over MENDIP EXPRESS and his mate William Biddick is doing the steering again, after his very cocky win on it last time when we backed it. 5/2 is a very fair price, I think the price is holding up because the McCain’s are trying to win the race that is named after the great man ginger himself.

Our day is completed with THE DRUIDS NEPHEW which at 10/1 with the tote I think is a cracking ew bet.

I have an invite to go to Great Yarmouth dogs tonight and a nice meal in the restaurant to watch my friends dog win the A1 race.

MENDIP EXPRESS is still weak in the betting and drifting. Obviously nobody told Biddick and MENDIP because he is always travelling very well within himself and wins very nicely at an amazingly good price of 3/1. Great start to the day with 2 more to run.

Just when you think all is going really well THE DRUIDS NEPHEW falls at the 1st, the ups and downs of racing.

INVICTIS cruises up on the outside and trades at a very short price in running, but ultimately runs out of puff after his very long layoff, it is only money lent because he will win next time out.

A nice winning day to finish off what has been a fantastic winning month, we haven’t quite hit our goal of finishing over 100 pts profit for the month but we are in the high 80s and will be very close to the top of the leader table for the month.

Sunday 1st. In all an excellent month is now complete and we all have to start again.

Hopefully with the buzzer out of Newmarket running midweek on the AW which we sorted earlier this week, so we can get off to a flying start.

TODAYS FREE TIP RUNS ACROSS THE WATER 12-40 Fairyhouse MINELLA FORU EW STEEL AT 11-2.

Lets hope the run in for the year is just as kind to us.

Back next Sunday.
