Andy Bell’s Racing Diary… Thanks Joe, Sunnier Climes Beacons.
Sunday 12th. “Holden the Great” done us fair and square in the battle of the tipsters, well not really, because I have to, or rather want to, save my best stuff for all my members, as we are not allowed to use them in both. So although Holden is gloating at our expense, I think we are the ones who really had it off, making an incredible 40ish points profit Saturday, with 4/1, 11/4 and a 4/5 winners and very nearly copping another 50ish on our ew Trixie, with two winners and a second as well.
When you read this I shall hopefully be in sunnier climes, as I am flitting off on the high seas for a week on Friday 17th until Friday 24th. Joe Coral has paid for it I’m proud to say and I urge you all to always enjoy your winnings as well.
Nothing will change on the tipping front, as I can have full internet access everyday and I have primed all my boys and girls to keep me well informed.
Smudger or Simon will be doing my telephone tipping line, so nobody needs to panic, as you will all be catered for and well looked after.
The jolly old Celebration ship, will get an education next week, as I have wisely purchased a drinks package (£300, hehehe 2 days worth) and I shall also be doing my Man v Food daily routine.
No bets today, Sunday lunch and a nice few glasses of red is much more alluring than the Sunday drivel we have been served up on the racing front.
Monday 13th. Got a trip down to Newmarket early this morning to watch some gallops, in hope that our next weeks touch and my next holiday in Malta, in May, will be paid for.
BEAU LAKE at Plumpton, if he runs will go very close, but the trainer and owners are going to see how heavy the going really is after the 1st race.
Venetia Williams horses seem to love and relish the heavy going, for some unknown reason. I have no idea why, whether that’s the type she buys or it’s just a quirk of fate, but whatever the reason, we need to follow this trend and have a good punt on TOUBEERA. I advise taking the 5/6, as I have been told this will get very well punted today.
Finally my/our punts and e-mails are completed by the Smiley ridden NIGHT OF PASSION, who is expected to follow up his very good win last time.
The gallops went very well this morning and all being well we have got a MAXIMUM bet coming up next week. I also saw some of Nick Littmoden’s horses gallop and although I don’t think he will ever hit the heady heights he achieved in the early 90s, when he was banging in 70-80 winners a year, I think he will get a few as they looked ok.
TOUBEERA is smashed off all the boards making our evens look good and is made to battle all the way, which he ultimately does and I think he may of even been idling in front, as he ran right away after the last and gives us our 1st runner and 1st winner of the day.
What ever happens in the next we have had a winning day.
BEAU LAKE is declared a non runner due to the ground.
I’m sure a female member (well I hope female anyway) would of given Smiley a “NIGHT OF PASSION” if he had of jumped the last and won to cop us another 10 points profit, but it wasn’t meant to be, after what I thought was a really good and well judged ride and we had to settle for 2nd and a small profit on the day.
Tuesday 14th. The phones have all been red hot today and I think for a Tuesday we have some exciting information.
I am told that today is the day for a touch on COOL GEORGE, who is trading at 13/2 and will not be out of the 3, barring accidents of course and is expected to go very close. I get Smudger and Chippy Pete to back this for me at 13/2 and 6/1 and e-mail this out immediately, as the story I’m told makes full sense and I can relate to it.
NO WIN NO FEE is in receipt of 6lb from the fav for only 1/2 a length beating and looks a great ew bet at 5/1, although we have to factor that into the price we are taking as we are backing apprentices.
I’ve been having my double garage converted into a flat and having an office built above it, so it’s the day to pick a couple of flat screen TV’s to grace the walls, so I can have channels 415 and 432 on at the same time. Pathetic isn’t it, can’t even turn the one television over nowadays, we have to have two.
TV’s sorted is the easy bit as we now need to lug the pool table and juke box up there.
Jumping two out COOL GEORGE is trading at 1/10 in running and has apparently paid for my cruise and both of the flat screens, in my ignorance, I don’t even notice McCoy coming until it’s evident his persistence has paid off and he does us after the last on the run in. Dam and Blast or something not similar, a small profit, but I am gutted.
NO WIN NO FEE doesn’t help my mood as our local boy Louis Steward causes a knock on effect, which totally destroys any chance we ever had of even getting a place.
A losing day which could so easily of been a very good winning one, but hey tomorrow’s another day.
Wednesday 15th. Out early doors this morning again, not to the gallops this time, but to get the old Barnet sorted as I may have my picture taken on our cruise as winner of the John Travolta dancing class or rather my bet would be odds on the winner of the Adam Richmond, Man v Food title.
I arrive home with both of my dumbos still fully intact, to 8 different horses to sort through, which various contacts all think are going to run big races. I do ponder putting all 8 up in an attempt to catch Lord Howie or is it Duke Hottie now after his subtle little rant aimed in my direction in his column today, I liked it hehehe.
GREGORI is back in distance to 5f and looks to bigger price at 5/2, I back this on Betdaq myself and this is the first of my e-mails.
Biggles is ranting on about that JUST FOR PLEASURE could win this race with an extra 7lb on its back, if it runs like it works at home, so with no form to go on, I back this on his word ew and also put this out as an ew bet.
Tim Leslie thinks his 50,000g purchase PALERMO DON who he has put with Donald McCain is a cracking bet as it has been flying at home and although the 7/4 is a bit skinny we also back this.
On all known form BABY SHINE looks a certainty and it’s winning time at Towcester last time also backs this up and to my eyes 10/11 is amazing value with only the 3 runners, when 1 looks to have no chance.
After just missing out on a cracking Trixie on Saturday, I decide to put another Trixie out as our final bet of the day JUST FOR PLEASURE, PALERMO DON and BABY SHINE in a 10pt ew Trixie.
I am well aware that I have put out a lot of points/monies today and it’s a great deal of points/monies to be found and laid out, not only for you, but also myself. I do take solace in the fact that we are nearly 50 points up this month, won over 100 points in December and over 80ish in November, so if it does go tits up today, I do have a small, very small hiding place and I can hopefully beg forgiveness.
With that all over, I need to pop out and have a quick clothing update, a new pair of Converse trainers or shoes, I don’t know what they’re called, some very loose fitting t shirts and some 3/4 jeans, an elastic waist is a must for the cruise.
BABY SHINE bolts up as we all expected her to and it’s a cracking start to the day and just a bit of the pressure is off.
Just as I am checking my bets, PALERMO DON is running, as Lingfield has a delay due to a bad fall and only 1 ambulance is in attendance. I’m thinking this is our second winner of the day 2 furlongs out, as he’s cruising along and both in front are being pushed, unfortunately he flatters to deceive and doesn’t find on the heavy ground and finishes 3rd. A losing single win bet, but we are still going in our ew Trixie.
Lingfield has caught up and our 5/2 looks fantastic on GREGORI as it’s trading at 4/6 on, I do just take my stake out on Betdaq, so I have a bet to nothing. GREGORI is taken on for the lead and it’s good night nurse to our 5/2 and I am left wishing I had laid all my bets off, Mmmmm hind sight, if we could bottle it we would all be millionaires.
JUST FOR PLEASURE is trailing at the back of the field and I am thinking it needs 7lb off its back and not on it and counting our losses on the ew single and also the ew Trixie, when all of a sudden the very green running little 4 year old filly gets the idea and flies up the outside and takes the lead, although she runs very green in front she still does it, oi oi she wins and a lovely price of 11/2.
Phew, job complete and the days gambling is a goodun, a fantastic winning day and all seems worthwhile and there was no need to panic about the amount of points/money staked.
Thursday 16th. A great winning day yesterday as we made nearly 30 points profit and it has catapulted us up the BETFAN tree into 3rd with over 76 points profit for the month so far.
A disappointing days racing today, I was looking to build on our very profitable day yesterday and apart from two big priced charges and a short priced fav, that I am told is in need of the run, I have nothing.
POWERFULPADDY is trading at too bigger price after his good win last time at Limerick. Although he’s a 13yo, he is relatively lightly raced. Coupled with the fact that I am told that the odds on fav will be in need of the run, I e-mail him out as a small ew bet at 22/1.
I also put a very small bet on OLD TRICKS at 10/1.
I get some very exciting news this afternoon about a Tom Tate horse that we must back at Wolverhampton tomorrow, but I will need to check it out myself this evening before I decide to back this myself and put this out to you.
Our two very small ew bets don’t strengthen our position in the table or contribute to our points tally, although for any of you layers we got OSCAR DELTA beaten at odds on and the information was spot on as it defiantly ran as if it needed it.
Friday 17th. Last night BETFAN sent out the details about my late tipping service, which will be live as from today. I wanted all my members to get the first bite of the cherry and a chance to sign up for this exclusive and limited club. I felt that I was getting a lot of later information from the track and my informants, which was being received after I had done all my e-mails and this was slipping through the net and not being maximised. In addition to the 70 odd points we are already up this month, my proofing has proved there is a lot more mileage and money to be earned, as this is already 46 points up this month and over 110 points up in just over 2 months. All these advices are totally devoid and different to my main ANDY BELL tipping line. I will endeavour to get all my tips to you at least 1 hour before the off. There will NOT be one everyday and I assume it will average out about 4/5 a week to start with.

Right an early start this morning, I am getting my column bang up to date at 4am, as leaving for Luton airport at 5-30am to fly to Santa Cruz. I’m not a great flyer, but I hasten to add, much better than I used to be, when I had to have a head band over my eyes, only removing it to consume more of the old Mother in laws ruin or stagger to the Thomas crapper.
I still have to have more than a few liveners to get on the smartie pot, but flying is now bearable and a must to enjoy the extra spoils of our gains. I must admit, I wasn’t at my best in the early stages of my adult travelling career, when my Father nudged me to lift my head band to introduce me to his very good Maltese friend, very pleasant until I realised it was the f*****g captain and screamed who’s flying this b*****d thing??????
As I said yesterday the Tom Tate stable thinks their DUTCH RIFLE can win at Wolverhampton again tonight and because of the travelling and flying today, I e-mailed this out last night and advised taking the 2/1 on offer.
Saturday 18th. My first night aboard the Celebration was quite eventful as I missed the lifeboat drill, on purpose, in favour of lager, naughty but nice, Tenerife is a bit bland, but in the small town or village just off the docks the Spanish fillies are very nice.
The meal was very nice, but I immediately put my table waiter right about these posh pigeon portions, just after I had completed my first task, as below.
The first of my free tips today is tip all the waiters and waitresses that serve your tables on the first night so your can enjoy any fringe benefits that may occur, not when you leave as your get jack shit extra.
Also the all inclusive wine is shite, but after the wine waiter Benjamin had his top pocket filled, amazingly I had a different bottle arrive, long may this continue.
The show was very good, especially the big busted blondes singing, although I bet they shag better than they sing, well I hope so anyway, wouldn’t it be nice to be able to confirm that about Wednesday or Thursday.
TODAYS FREE TIP: 3.15 Haydock KATENKO Each Way 9/2 Corals.
Just have a thought for poor old me having to constantly fight off all these gorgeous Philapino birds, Sid James and Carry on Cruising will have nothing on me this week!
Keep your life jackets safely tucked under your beds.
Until next week, be good and don’t get caught .
Back next Saturday.
