The World Cup moves on to the quarter finals with some very interesting games in prospect in particular the match between Brazil and Columbia. Hosts Brazil put out my tip Chile on penalties and again I think they might struggle to beat a strong Columbian outfit. The one thing that does please me about the tournament is the super entertainment value from most matches.
On the tipping front both Bankers Bonus and Fold4Gold have been finding their share of winners and long may it continue.
My eyecatchers are flying with winners left right and centre so I hope you are following them as they are FREE and I can tell you there are many out there who would pay me a packet for such advice.
Australia proved Aiden O’Brien right by winning the Irish Derby and is as we were all told by the great trainer the best he has ever trained.
Today’s racing is run of the mill stuff and for Howies Hottie I’m off the other side of the Irish Sea to Fairyhouse for the 7.30. The selection is Tsar Paul who will be ridden by Aiden O’Briens daughter Anna.
She rides this old boy on a regular basis and will try to emulate brother Joseph who has won on him back in the day. The gelding takes a bit of knowing as he needs holding up as long as possible and coming with a late burst.
He will need a bit of luck in running but with trip and ground in his favour he has each way chances.
EYECATCHERS
FLAT RACING
Luhaif trainer Julia Fielden – Good winner at Yarmouth and he was one of my recent eyecatchers. Still well handicapped and when he gets an easy lead can go in again.
Shirataki trainer P.Hiatt – Prominent racer who is on a decent rating and should go close now the yard are in a bit of form.
Dashwood trainer J.Levins – Ran well in a very competitive Irish sprint handicap from a terrible draw. With a better stall position he could be difficult to beat next time out.
Repeater trainer D.Omeara – Ran a stormer in the Northumberland Plate finishing very strongly from a bad position. Could be one for big staying handicapps for the rest of the season.
Above The Rest trainer T.Jarvis – 2nd behind another eyecatcher in Elusive Guest at Windsor on Monday. There could be more to come from this individual.
Baha trainer J.Gosden – Another who ran well behind Elusive Guest finishing strongly from the rear. This horse could be going places when running over further for sure.
Back next Wednesday have a good week and be lucky.
Howard Davis.
