The Gambling Don

May 4, 2014 By admin Leave a Comment

Well where does the Don start this week?

April finished for us with a profit of over 200 points, some services don’t make that in a year so if you are not on board get on board. No bull I tell it how it is every day with my members, why I backed something why I think we need to be on and also why and where I went wrong.

BetFan have always been straight down the line, every bet since I started is up there on the proofing button along with a profit and loss. You cannot make long term profits betting on horses if all you do is back short priced horse and faves. You will get that winning buzz often but you will do your dough slowly but surely. We do back faves and second faves but they have to be the right ones and there in a portfolio of big value prices. That’s how we found the winners of the English and Irish Nationals at monster prices.

If you are thinking about choosing an advisor then choose wisely and look at their long term record.

Newmarket yesterday left the Don in an extremely bad mood not just because winners were hard to find but because the results made no sense at all. The defeat of Trading Leather after he looked exceptional was hard to fathom. The Guineas was hardly a spectacle with horses all over the place. I’m convinced the near side was quicker so Kingman staying far side was a mistake but the winner being out there shows he was the best horse. Great to see Fallon back in the big time, whilst the Don acknowledges he has made some bad choices he is still an exceptional talent.

So 1000 Guineas day is upon us and a very competitive card which is what you would expect. We are betting big on the private service however for you dear readers I have a horse I’ve been waiting for since seeing it win its Maiden in an ordinary race at Newcastle. The horse is Jordan Princess trained by the wily Luca Cumani. Now Luca doesn’t give a great deal away if you say good morning to him, he would reply “Good morning but don’t quote me on that” but this daughter of Cape Cross looked like she could be a bit special. I understand she has wintered well and worked well. This is a listed race so is a huge step up but she looks up to the task. Back her to win the 5.00 at Newmarket @ 10/1 with Betfred.

Have a great day and I shouldn’t really have to say this but ALWAYS trust in the Don.

Back next Sunday.
