Its been a good week on the punting front for my private service clients and we aim for that to continue so get involved if you are not already.
The Don is making his way to Haydock Park this morning for this Afternoons showpiece card at the North West Track.
Haydock have put a lot of money into their facilities in the past few years and it really is a good place to go racing on the Flat or over the sticks.
It’s a high quality card with the highlight being the 3.50 the Group 1 Betfred Sprint Cup Haydock’s richest race of the year.
The big news is the heavens opened yesterday and they have had further rain overnight so the ground has turned soft/good to soft in places. This looks like bad news for the fave Lethal Force who has used his blistering speed to good effect this season but today is now about stamina and speed because 6 furlongs on soft ground will mean you can’t blast off like Lethal Force has been doing or you simply won’t get home.
I have great respect for the second fave Gordon Lord Byron who will relish getting his toe in but my worry for him is that he has started to be campaigned over longer trips and that looks to have taken the edge off him as a sprinter. He will be bang there but I think there is a much better bet at bigger odds. Step forward the Willie Haggas trained Heeraat available at a tasty 16/1 with Stan James. Heeraat is a horse on the up and his win in a group 3 over 6 against a good yardstick in Hamza is good form. He will need to improve but I’m sure he will and he has form on softish ground. At 4 he has strengthened up and should be at his sprinting peak. I think this horse is a big player today and at 16/1 he is a cracking each way bet to give Willie Haggas yet another big race.
Have a great Saturday, check out my private service and cheer on Heeraat!
Back next Saturday.
