The Florida Swing reaches its last stop this week with arguably its most exciting Tournament The Bay Hill Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Fresh from his Win at Doral Tiger Woods is back to the old days going into the week as a 3/1 jolly old favourite.
He certainly has the course form having won the event a whopping 7 times and it really has been an event he has bossed over the years.
Before we decide not to hold the event and just award him it lets look at a few counter arguments and remind ourselves that Woods produced his best ever putting stats to win at Doral a fortnight ago and still wobbled at the end falling over the line to win by one. Bay Hill is much harder than Doral with tougher rough and it looks like the wind which didn’t appear at Doral will be making an appearance this week.
These are all factors against Woods certainly at 3/1 and don’t think the other pros won’t have been heartened by Wood’s difficulties in securing the win at Doral. He is still a great talent but events of the past few years and his slump in form have reminded the sporting world that underneath the bravado there is a human being.
With the Masters hurtling towards us this is a Tournament that the top players will be looking to win to make a statement and by its link with Palmer who owns the course it is one everybody wants on their cv.
The course takes a great deal of knowing hence do not look for a young gun playing it for the first time, this is a plot your way round track. The greens are tricky and extremely fast and were Woods to repeat his putting of a fortnight ago he will win but the odds on that happening are bigger than 3/1 so my members will be looking elsewhere.
We are into the teeth of the season now and every week is a big week so there is no better time than now to join us and be part of the most profitable sports service out there.
I look forward to seeing you on the fairways this week.
Back next Tuesday.
