Big week last week as predicted 76 points of lovely profit and that was from places and a shrewd late play.
In Holland we had a maximum each way bet on Jimenez sadly he extended our run of defeats in play offs by losing to local boy Josh Luiten but it was a solid place payout and one day soon this play off hoodoo will be put to rest I assure you all.
We then were on Furyk at 40/1 in America and in round two we witnessed I think the greatest this wonderful game has ever been played as Furyk shot 59 on a tough course on a windy day. The whole of BetFan Towers was gripped as the story unfolded, tea was delayed, programmes had to quickly go on skyplus so the action could be followed. Gentleman Jim needed a birdie on the last and he delivered in what is golfs version of the 9 dart. The sad thing for us is that seemed to exhaust Furyk and he weakened to finish third overall, a case of climbing the mountain too early I’m afraid but he gave us a night of sporting excellence that those who witnessed will never forget. Luckily for us we predicted he might blow up and backed Zach Johnson @9/1 before the last round as the ratings had him as a 5/1 chance… Boom!
It’s Tour Championship week at Eastlake for the final stop on the Fedex Cup and only thirty players remain with some big names missing out. Rory and Westwood, Poulter and many others are just watching now as the top players slug it out over four days. The first prize is 1.5 million dollars and the winner of the Fedex Cup itself will win ten million dollars which is not bad for hitting a little white ball is it. Woods leads the overall standings going into this week but he looked on bad terms with himself last week and got caught out yet again by the rules officials.
That’s the third time this season Woods has been caught out and it is yet another question mark on his character. The Tour are of course frightened of him so he will escape with a token fine but the game is bigger than anyone even the Tiger and some one at the top of the game should have the guts to tell him.
In Europe we have the Open de Italia a Tournament we have done well in the past and I’m confident we have the winner this year. It’s a tight tree lined course and though the golfing world will be fixed on America this is a cracking little Tournament in itself. We nearly did the double last week and we are going for it again this week so do join us!
It really is crunchtime so get involved and I will see you on the fairway!
Back next Tuesday.
