There will be a triumphalist atmosphere in Australia this week like no other in its recent sporting history.
With England royally grilled on the barbie in the first test and Day and Scott winning the World Cup of Golf at Royal Melbourne last Sunday all will be well Down Under.
So spectators will arrive at Royal Sydney Golf Course in Bondi this week fully expecting no demanding a home win of this great old Tournament. And in the short priced favourite in Adam Scott they have a great chance. Scotty has remained in great form since winning The Masters and is relishing playing in front of his home fans. After a bad first round last week he really played some superb stuff to help Jason Day bring the Trophy home and will be feeling very confident this week.
Scotty will not have it all his own way though and in Day his partner last week he will have a real challenge. We also have Rory Mcilroy flying in this week on a rumoured to be monster appearance fee. Whether he will be value for that is up for debate as he seems as fragile as ever this year. The course should suit but at 6/1 my members will be leaving him out of their calculations.
There is a huge home contingent playing and winning their National title will be the aim of any Aussie Golfer when they first pick up a club. The course itself with a classic hole which will provide great drama all week. It’s a drivable par four for the longer hitters which is a real risk reward as if you miss hit the drive there are some truly awful bunkers and rough lurking. So early in the round the players will face a real dilemma here, it will be great viewing though.
At Golf Bet Profits we profited last week from Luke Donalds first win in a year. Members were told to have a Max Win Bet at 5/1 and Donald proceeded to cruise to a 7 shot victory. If it’s confident selections like that you are after then this is the service for you. Join us there are some big weeks coming, I look forward to seeing you on the fairways.
