Huge congratulations to Bubba Watson the man with the pink driver who quite simply took Augusta apart with his driving and iron play.
He will never be the Worlds greatest putter but he gave himself so many chances with outrageously long and straight driving over four days. it turned into a race off with young wonder boy Jordan Speith who will win many Majors but there was to be no denying Watson, in the end it was elementary.
The European challenge well where do we start firstly by mentioning Luke Donald who last Winter sacked his coach the one who had helped him be number one in the World! I’m not sure who he replaced him with, on this weeks showing it could well be the Chuckle Brothers.
Lee Westwood flattered to deceive yet again and rolled out the same old excuses as did Poulter. It was quite embarrassing to view and when asked on Sky whether he thought Westwood could win Jack Nicklaus quickly changed the subject to Justin Rose, nuff said.
Bernard Langer and the great Freddie Couples showed it’s not impossible to play well round here despite what Rory and the rest of our boys kept hinting in interviews all week. As for Garcia. Well maybe he should book his holidays for this week next year. He could see if the Tigers free they could go on a cruise.
This week we have one of the great weeks in its own right. The Heritage at Hilton Head. A links style course with tricky small greens it’s a world away from Augusta. If the wind gets up it’s mega tricky and length off the tee counts for nothing which is why Bubba doesn’t bother with this one.
We are playing two max bets in this and one is 150/1 so jump on board if last week showed you this is the most exciting sport of them all.
Back Next Tuesday.
