Greyhound Master Tipster

July 26, 2013 By admin Leave a Comment

How much longer can we have this unusually hot weather for? The greyhound tracks are struggling to keep the tracks watered enough as the heat is drying out the track
very quickly. The tracks look soft on top but are hard underneath. This time of year sees an unfortunate increase in injuries. But everything possible is being done to keep
all greyhound tracks and the dogs as safe as possible.

Another quiet start to the week for GMT subscribers with only bags racing and graded cards from Romford & Coventry on Wednesday’s – I won’t play at SP nor tip up
graders as a rule.

Just as an example of why – I liked a dog at Sheffield on Tuesday that was shown as 9/4 in the SP guide – won the race returned 4/7f – a massive difference and no value.

Last night saw the start of the Sussex Cup at Hove, next Tuesday we have the Sky meeting featuring the Betfred Select Stakes & Select Stayers. Then Friday week sees the
start of the Champion Stakes at Romford. So plenty for us to get stuck into coming up.

A long, long time ago my trainer and I planned a coup. We took a bitch grader to trial in at Aldershot and then took her identical litter sister who was open class to take her
place in the race. She duly hosed up by a distance and we landed a very nice touch, though one eagle eyed local joined in as he spotted she was a different bitch. (I still
don’t know how he did it) Anyway the bookies were less than pleased as were the racing office who chased us out of the track!!

What was your best ever greyhound gamble? Was it one of my tips?

Unfortunately my own dog Head iton Tom was beaten fair and square in the Rose Bowl Final last week by his kennel mate Cavan Dancer. Tommy is having a short rest
before going for the Champion Stakes. My free tip was a let down last week it seems Sharon’s Return is not the same dog as he was at present. Lets get back on track this
week with the winner of the big Final last week Cavan Dancer who produced a flawless performance. Well drawn tonight she should get first run on her opponents and go
onto to another victory.
