Fridays are always a busy day with the newsletter to be sent first thing to Betfan towers along with the free tip. The free tip will always come from one of the priced up flying four races. So I am limited as to my selection, so despite that I am proud of my free tip record.
The afternoon is taken up with chasing the bookmakers to price up all the Romford card so I can comfortably post out my selections to subscribers before setting off to Romford to watch all the action. I got it all wrong taking on Shaneboy Ozzy despite the stats telling me to do so, My selection Aymzaman’s was poor! However the free tip A New Venture @ 9/2 absolutely hacked up. I’m now going to include the free tip in my Friday selections to my clients. I also ignored a good piece of info from my northern correspondent at Sunderland which won at 7/2, I won’t do that again!
Saturday saw me make a few morning phone calls up North as I was sorting out some ante post selections for my subscribers for the Northern Puppy Derby and All England Cup. Selections sorted, it was time to do some more work on my office. At night I tuned in to RPGTV to see four out of five selections safely through to the Semi Finals, whilst studying the Henlow card for tomorrow where a maximum bet selection had presented itself.
Up with the larks on Sunday after not being able to find out all the early prices for my selection Sizzling Bolt last night, so we cracked on I placed all my own bets and I then sent out a very early maximum advice to all my clients to steam in to the 2/1 that was on offer. I had made Bolt an 5/4 shot on my tissue. They money came for the dog all day and was odds on with all the off course bookies. He duly hosed up, the result was never in doubt, he was returned 4/5. This lifted my spirits after the defeat of my puppy Blackstone Marco in the Maiden Derby Final earlier. Marco lost nothing in my eyes coming runner up behind a very fast winner Savana Nijinsky. I’m sure we will have many more good nights with Marco!
Have none the less enjoyed the last three Sunday nights at Henlow and I would thoroughly recommend anyone to pay the track a visit.
A little low still at first on Monday morning, but soon picked up after talking through future plans for Marco with Ernie Gaskin, who said he has come out of the race well and is excited about the future with him. I also talked to fellow owners Carpo and Nick the dog about our RPGTV interview which was a classic! It wasn’t all bad though as we all picked up our ew money from our 20/1 ante post bets on Marco and the lumps we had on Sizzling Bolt!!
I scoured the open races but nothing priced up all on the bags at the mercy of the track bookies prices. So another quiet one, no bets advised. Nothing for it but watching all the weekends racing videos and then a trip to Romford to watch a couple of dogs for future reference.
Tuesday saw only a few opens scheduled for Sheffield. No bets advised. Busy catching up with emails, ringing contacts today and looking at what’s coming up this week on the open racing front. Checking the Betfan website I finished the month with 33 points profit and have had eight winning months in 2013 out of nine. This puts me third in the Betfan Top 10 for the whole of 2013. I’m not resting on my laurels though I’m looking to get better & better. But I’m pleased that a minority sport with not as much chance to land big price winners is right up there and I’m doing better than a lot of other sports big name tipsters!
Felt a bit lazy on Wednesday morning so lay in bed with the iPad checking out the early prices and looking to see if we had a bet today. One selection has presented itself and was shipped out to my subscribers. They’re normally quiet days because we usually only get graded action on RPGTV. I read in the paper that Peterborough is now on RPGTV Wednesday nights from October 16th.
It will replace Coventry, after promoter Harry Findlay informed RPGTV that he wishes to switch to Monday and Tuesday nights in an effort to stimulate the track’s GR8 mega-jackpot pool as part of their low-margin strategy. Mondays and Tuesdays are blank nights for RPGTV at present. Another new track to get to grips with, I like a challenge.
My selection Midway Nick duly hosed up at 7/4 to get the month of to a flyer. Got a late bit of info, much too late to punt out..that was very good and made it a big winning night for me.
Thursday saw an avalanche of open racing with the Newcastle Festival and Kent Derby/Grand National at Sittingbourne on at your local turf accountants. So I was in my local betting shop for three hours tonight!
Hove feature some opens as well on RPGTV. Changed my mind from Hove to Newcastle for my selection, something you should never do. Maximum bet for my clients was not rewarded as Redbrick Stuart didn’t like the third bend at Newcastle checking badly that allowed his closest market rival Droopys Dave first run up the home straight, Stuart tried but fell 3/4 length short! Still not all bad as we have three of the six puppy finalists ante post.
I hope my homework pays rewards next Tuesday when Sky cover the Finals.
Looking at the races featured in the flying four that have been priced up early by the bookies, I have decided to put my free tip on the shoulders of Jim Reynolds Borna Monty. He ran prolific Shaneboy Ozzy very close last week, looks to have a good make up tonight and can improve further to land this very good contest.
