Greyhound Master Tipster

Friday saw the usual busy morning with the Newsletter and free tip, some say I was brave many others foolish to tip Penny’s Pong in the bitches race against Ali’s Avenger who has badly beaten me up at Romford over the last few weeks. I tip against her she wins and when I’m with her she gets beat! She made a fool out of me again using her rails draw and a faster than usual break to hold my selection by 3 parts of a length. To compound matters my other selection for subscribers ran very poorly.

I was with my friends Nick, Carpo and Andy D in the very nice Pavillion Restaurant at the Essex track enjoying the Carvery but in truth enjoying the banter more. Nick & Carpo playing odds & evens for a score a race and if they got a full house it was double bubble. Carpo was slaughtering Nick who was more interested in his dwindling Betfair account after earlier events. So once more it was left to my evergreen hero Head iton Tom to somehow pull all of us out of the mire in the lucky last. I had told the boys to take some of the 9/4 on offer earlier in the day but we all pressed up at the miserly 6/4 the local layers offered. It appeared as though all of the track was on Tommy as he was quickly smashed into evens. Tommy was moderately away by his high standards but his superb early pace drew him clear rounding the first and second bends, he was briefly challenged into the fifth bend before repelling all challengers to the whole of the terraces delight. The pay out queues were massive as we went to hug our hero and collect the trophy. A fine end to a brilliant fun evening.

Saturday saw me realise I had wiped out my Betfan profit from Thursday and we needed to restore the balance with a winner. Normally there is nothing of any interest at Crayford or Newcastle. But fortunately one dog took my eye enough to push out a selection to my loyal band of followers step up Millwards Mink who was dropped in class, had trialled well round the contours of the Kent circuit and was available at 5/2!! Helped myself to a chunk of that before hitting the send button as I had the dog as a 6/4 shot on my tissue. He duly led at the first bend and was never in any danger and was smashed into 10/11f on track. Happy days!

I was unable to complete a hat trick of winning horse race trixies to serve it up to my mate Andy Bell for another week. However I did latch onto the big price Venetia Williams winners at Warwick rather than the Williams free tip faller Mr Bell advised. I’m waiting for my battle of the tipsters invite which is surely just around the corner. I see Simon Holden is defeating all comers with his winning run at eight weeks now.

Sunday was a frosty morning but a kennel visit was still necessary to take my dogs out and give them some well earned treats. It wasn’t the best of cards at Henlow but I still hoped to bang in another winner for my subscribers. My Henlow contact rung me to say that a prominent owner fancied both her runners and both were being backed accordingly. I already had Fermoy Rory on my radar so I posted it out. He broke moderately but paced up well went clear and just held the late challenge of the two dog to land us another winner. So it brought to an end a good weekend for the GMT service despite the poor show at Romford.

Monday is catch up day – emails & phone calls to sources and watching all the videos to see if I missed anything. Nothing exciting on the open race front today which is a blessing as I’m busy already with the Sky TV Romford card tomorrow. Looking to press on further with more winners!

Coronation Cup Final Night promised more than it delivered for us all, which is sometimes the case. Ante post voucher 20/1 Hometown Honey landed the each way money but she and my subscribers selection on the day Aayamzamodel could only manage places behind Reel Tricky One. While my other selection Steve’s Dream could only lose if he missed the break, he duly did. The only highlight of the night was my friends dog Dower Matt beating a good field in a very fast time. I collected the trophy and told the Sky viewers that he was under estimated by the pundits. Very pleased for my mate ‘rudders.’

Wednesday was a no bet day as there was nothing on the bags cards to remotely interest me in tipping anything to you. My own bitch Dear Holly was running at Romford and I thought she had a good chance as she had got her draw – she wants the butchers apron! She trapped out and led all the way – my trainers dogs are running ever so well at present.

Some opens at Hove and a lowly graded card at Henlow were Thursdays RPGTV fare. We swerved Henlow and looked at Hove’s opens for my selection. Thought Droopys Odell would be too classy for his opponents, 7/4 was worth taking as I had him around even money shot on my tissue. Sent out to subscribers and he duly obliged with the minimum of fuss returned at 5/4.

The week flies when your having fun. Fridays come round quickly so free tip time. ‘I was always told class tells’ Droopys Quincy could never get competitive on Tuesdays Sky card after trapping tardily by his high standards. This is a drop in class tonight and if normal trapping service is resumed he will put these to the sword.
