Friday saw our free tip Sparta Flame fall out as if lead boots had been applied as he went to the traps, he ran well after that tardy exit to finish third. However my ante post book showed another profit when Lough Messi advised at 7/1 toughed it out to land the Coral Golden Sprint. I was over at Swindon where Marco did slightly disappoint in his run behind last years derby finalist Screen Critic. However you get nothing for winning trial stakes and better is expected for this coming Fridays Pinpoint Recruitment Arc heats.
Saturday is normally a no bet day but we had the Scottish Derby heats from Shawfield to analyse for bets to subscribers. I found time however to avail myself of Betfan TV’s answer to channel 4 racings Nick Luck, Simon’s tip was in the Lincoln consolation Brae Hill at 10/1 and it duly won. However the football bet on Man City went down after looking good at half time. Back to the dogs and my two selections sent out both went down Toolatetosell missed the break but still ran well coming third. Greenwell Mentor bolted the traps but just failed to clear Farloe ‘Nutter’ inside him at the corner, Nutter is well named as he spun Mentor sideways and went onto victory over Mentor! It’s just not happening for us at the moment.
Sunday clocks change, spring forward – kennel visit followed by Mother’s Day Sunday lunch before getting down to business at Henlow. I had a good word for Aaymzamodel who featured on our ante post list but a tardy break meant she could only manage second behind fastest heat winner Jet Stream Duke. Both main ante post fancies made it through to next weeks semi finals.
Monday is usually catch up day with no bets but I put up a strong bet at Nottingham on Blackhouse Heidi a bitch who I have been keeping an eye on for the future in marathons.
I went to watch her in the betting shop, she was very disappointing in truth, lugging in behind a dog on the rails at the 1st bend then doing the same again when trying to pass on the outside at the 5th bend. She’s off my Xmas card list but she will probably get her own back by winning next weeks Final!
Tuesday saw a new start, a new month – after a poor first quarter by my standards I’m looking to kick on. No bets were sent out as there was no open racing in the UK. This was handy as I went to Romford to watch Head iton Tom trialling after being off injured and also to get a first look at the new Romford traps. The traps are an up and over style similar to the ones used at Crayford & Monmore.
Wednesday saw the same scenario so I took time out to review our ante post runners and decided to add one which was sent out to subscribers.
Thursday I had hoped to kick the month off in style with a winner at Hove and Crossfield Delia appeared to tick all the boxes winning in fine style on sky in the trainers championship and was 6/7 from trap 1 but she ran no sort of race at all. She was easing at the bends and looked lame to me.
Friday free tip… comes from Swindon where the Pinpoint Recruitment Arc starts this afternoon live in your betting shops. We’re going for a dog that’s over priced in the first heat Kevin Hutton’s Forest Oscar who ran very well last week when second in a hot trial stake.
He could get first run on these and make every post a winning one.
