I thought it was about time that I threw my hat in the ring to contribute to the Daily Newsletter.
As Betfan’s Greyhound Tipster I will stick to what I know best – Greyhounds, despite the lure of throwing a Cheltenham Ante Post Selection into the pot.
Last month I finished second in Betfan’s Top Ten, a great effort considering I am one of the new boys on the firm.
I was delighted with that knowing how good all the tipsters are here.
My subscribers had a very Merry Xmas as we showed a 117.5 pts profit last month. So for £10 per point every bet that month they made £1,175 profit.
Bear in mind in the world of greyhound racing I am unable to bang in the big priced winners like the horse racing or golf does from time to time.
However I did land my blog & twitter followers a 33/1 ante post winner last year, and we had a 66/1 ante post advice was placed in the Greyhound Derby before I joined Betfan, so it can be done.
I’m really pleased that a new Sky deal has been agreed and top class greyhound racing can be promoted in a good light to everyone, as it is a fantastic sport.
Sky races along with Racing Post Greyhound TV (Channel 212 on Sky) on Thursday, Friday and Saturday give me an edge with all the major bookmakers pricing up early. I always advise my subscribers to take the bog price. The odds even if the dog isn’t backed will be shorter on track thanks to the track bookies betting to bigger percentages.
Onto my ante post advice for you. The first Category 1 event of the dog calendar, Ladbrokes Golden Jacket starts Saturday week at Crayford on February 2nd (covered by RPGTV). It is held over the 714 metres trip and is over eight bends. The Kent track is one of the tightest circuits around, you need early pace, staying power and be able to handle the sharp bends and short straights. The £15,000 first prize has attracted a good class entry and one of the ante post favourites has travelled over from Ireland White Soks Roks.
He is a player along with Bubbly Swallow.
But for me Blonde Reagan is the one I like.
Reagan trained by champion trainer Mark Wallis won the St Leger and the TV Trophy last year before feeling the effects of a busy campaign in the Xmas Festival at Monmore.
He has a had a month break and his trials back have been very good. I saw him in the flesh when he trialled at Romford, an imposing dog, oozing class.
He hasn’t yet been round Crayford but I’m sure he is booked in for a spin round this weekend.
Not all the bookmakers have priced up yet on the competition. He is currently 6/1 best price, but lets wait and monitor the market via oddschecker on a daily basis in a effort to get a better price. I will also put up another ante post selection at a bigger price in next week’s newsletter.
