Power Naps

Isn’t it sad to see the acrimonious end of one of the great Trainer/Owner Partnerships this week as Paul Nicholls and Clive Smith split in a very public and bitter way. The crux of the argument appears to be the future of the great Kauto Star who now is strangely beginning a second career as a dressage horse!

Now not known as one to mince my words let me be clear on this whilst respecting him immensely as a trainer on a personal level I dislike the Champion Trainer and find him a rather rude and unpleasant character, single minded winners often are and this guy is a winner.

I must say however on this argument I find myself taking the side of the the trainer against the owner. It seems Nicholls was hoping the horse would spend the rest of his days with head lad Clifford Baker but Clive Smith has decided no it’s the dressage world for him.

Now you may say as he forked out a fortune to buy the horse then he can do what he wants which is true the owner is King but Kauto Star is too old to ever be any good at dressage and do we really want to think of him prancing round in a circle it’s hardly the King George is it! He could of stayed at the Trainers yard for life in an environment he clearly loves and would have remained top dog for the rest of his days. You have to admire Nicholl’s sounding off in public he could have kept his mouth shut and hoped for more horses from this hugely wealthy man but that’s as likely now as Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott winning Britain’s best dressed man.

Last Saturday my Power Naps clients enjoyed a stellar day as the old warrior Hello Bud did the business in style at Aintree at 16/1. At fourteen years old he is a marvel though I aged fourteen years on the run in as the pack grew closer. The horse means the World to jockey Sam Twiston Davies who looks 14 so they have a lot in common. If you want the very best bets and proven profitability over two years then join us at Power Naps there are plenty more big winners to come.

Finally, please join me tonight for a very special live webinar event where my special guest is Michael Wilding the Race Advisor himself. Michael is talking about the world of Race Ratings. His views on this subject and unique approaches are simply fascinating. I really hope you can join us as it promises to be a great event.
