This has been a hugely busy week with a three day visit to Newmarket thrown in for good measure.
Newmarket is the centre of flat racing in the World and is certainly worth a visit for any racing fan.
On a wonderful late Summer morning being out on the Heath and seeing the various Trainers working their Battalions really is a site to behold. John Gosden’s string worked with an almost military precision and made you realise the enormity of running a Major yard. His horses looked in the rudest of health to me and I expect a big late season splurge of winners.
Who should I see in deepest conversation with a well known Newmarket face but BetFan’s Racing Diarist Andy Bell who judging by the smirk on his face had obviously been given word on one. After said gallop watcher wandered off I politely enquired as to what it might be. To say the Diarist became evasive at this point is an understatement and when I asked again his response was to ask me if I had visited the National Stud or the Jockey Club rooms. If the man who runs Newmarket Tours ever needs a day off I can suggest him as a replacement after this comical subject changing!
After an early morning’s gallop watching I retreated to the Waggon and Horses on the recommendation of BetFan’s Mr Newmarket The Gambling Don and can heartily recommend it. This is the authentic racing pub where the stable staff and jockeys come to discuss all things racing. The screens show recordings of racing before the action begins in the afternoon and I was able to relive in technicolor just how bad Paul Mulrennans’s ride on Les Gar Gan was at Hamilton on Monday. The group at the next table had also backed it and we united in giving him some stick, If Carlsberg did Racing Pubs!
The brief for the rest of my visit was spent in negotiations with three separate pro gamblers as I continue BetFan’s quest to put together the best stable of genuine pro punters/advisors that has ever been seen. We don’t believe in setting easy targets at BetFan Towers and I’m very excited about the future. Lets say negotiations have gone well and you will be hearing lots more about it as we build a Premier League of Pro Punters whose sole aim is to put you on the right horses. We already have the best team in the business and it’s only gong to get better so be ready.
Stableline Gold endured some frustrating crossbar hitting then zoomed back to form with a monster gamble at Goodwood 4/1 into 9/4, get in. I expect a huge jumps season on this service with the contacts I have in place but we aren’t’t finished on the flat yet so join me. Be on the movers before they move and the steamers before they steam.
Back next Thursday
