The Gambling Don

January 5, 2013 By admin Leave a Comment

Hats off to Chepstow for rescheduling the Welsh National I hope they get a massive crowd.

I shall be watching on TV it will be Attheraces for Penny and myself as I’ve decided one week of the new Channel 4 coverage was enough.

What a load of rubbish whoever is behind this new team needs their head examining it was excruciatingly awful.

Poor Nick Luck looked bemused with the new graphics as he sat at the track while Clare went round Nicky Hendersons yard in that patronising manner she does better than anyone as new pundit Mick Fitzgerald agreed that every horse they saw would win every race they ever entered. That’s the problem with Mick Fitz all he will ever do is tip his former boss Henderson’s horses which can get a little tedious, watch for it, it can be quite amusing after the 50th time. I will give it three months before they change it all again. All it needs to complete the misery is Carson to start hosting the morning line, now there’s a thought!

Enough of the tv review TGD you cry lets have our Saturday selection for the most successful tipping column in the business. Well I thought we’d go for the Welsh National itself where everyone seems to think the fave Teaforthree is a certainty. Well he has major claims and has certainly been aimed at this race but I wasn’t over impressed with the way he jumped last time and at a measly 7/2 I’m going elsewhere. The horse I’m convinced will win this years renewal is Giles Cross last years runner up to Le Beau Bai when the pair were well clear. The Dartnall yard have been under a cloud but all is well now and this fellow runs well fresh. He jumps like a cat and is ridden by Dennis O Regan who will kid him along and is simply a master at these long distance races. So Giles Cross at 14/1 with Betvictor each way with four places to go at is today’s Saturday Special.

Have a great day and if you want to put your betting on the right track in 2013 join my private service and do every bet I do it’s going to be a massive year.

Back next Saturday.
