I’m travelling up North today to Doncaster where whisper has it there is going to be a flat race meeting where it’s not going to be freezing cold. It’s a strong early season card today at Donny and then next week we have two days at my home track Newmarket for the Craven meeting. We really are in the thick of it now and I’m looking forward to my best ever season on the flat with some new contacts in some very strong yards. For obvious reasons I won’t name them here but we will be on the right horses from the right yards.
Of course this is racing and yesterday we had a crunching fall for a horse I had had a huge word for. It’s something that never gets any better the longer you punt and It reminded me I really am ready to concentrate fully on the flat game this Summer.
Lets go in the 3.30 at Donny for our Saturday hot pot in what is a typically competitive Doncaster sprint over six furlongs. Jack Dexter starts fave after his win here last time but I have my doubts as to whether that form is as strong as it looks as most of the horses looked badly in need of a run. Duke of Firenze is a talented horse but may need this although watch out for him as the season progresses. The horse who merits a good each way bet in this is Prodigality from the in form Ron Harris yard. We know the horse is fit and well because he won nicely at Warwick the other day in very similar ground. Luke Morris takes the ride and from stall 14 this horse has massive claims. Coral seem to want our money because they go 12/1 and it’s a 4 place payout.
Lets hope he does the business, join my private service because I will be at Newmarket this week and I have the real lowdown on the top yards. There are one or two whose horses are not firing on all cylinders yet. You need an advisor with all bases covered so stick with the Don.
Good luck today, I will be back next week with some horses to follow from the Newmarket Craven meeting.
Back next Saturday.
