It’s Hennessy day and Penny and I will be donning our Winter coats and travelling from Newmarket to Newbury to view the great race. There will be a huge crowd braving the weather and it really is one of the great days to attend.
The ground for the last two days has been very tiring for the horses and I can’t see anything changing today so we really need to be looking at the horses who have proven they can win on stamina sapping ground. Heartbreaking to see Timmy Murphy take a horror fall yesterday and it transpires he has broken three vertibrae. Tom Scudamore will take his rides at Newbury today and you wonder at Timmy’s age how many more serious injuries he will come back from.
We all give the jockeys some stick but we should temper it sometimes when we think of the risks they take to provide our entertainment. I was watching on TV yesterday and immediately knew it was a bad one so we wish Timmy well.
Our TGD Saturday cracker took care of business last week in the Betfair Chase so lets keep the run of the best tipping column in the business going today.
We are at Newbury and we are going for the 2.35. This is a competitive handicap hurdle with Ardlui and Salubrious vying for favouritism at 3/1. They both have good chances but the one we are on is twice that price at 6/1 with Coral and is the Curtis trained On Fishers Cross. This horse was a good winner last time out and I know the Trainer feels has been slow to develop and now at 5 there is plenty of improvement to come. He sneaks in off bottom weight and that will be key, get the 6/1 with Coral and have a win bet.
My private service finished November nicely in profit despite it being a difficult month on wretched ground. If you want to be on every single bet I do then join us we have some big bets lined up for December, It’s going to be a good xmas for the Don and his followers.
Back Next Saturday.
