Tuesday’s Horses In Focus – By Unity Racing Investments

March 26, 2019 By admin Leave a Comment

Nice to report that we have a nice profit so far in March. It has still been a little up and down. We have made gains this week though with thanks to Vin D’honer 17/2 which was our big winner yesterday. We had to back the horse 3 times over the last few months. It just goes to show that the information on the horse being ready to win was correct. Sometimes a race just don’t work out there are such small margins.

The Grand National

Well Tiger Roll is a very short price for the national! In fact I can’t remember a year where the favourite was so far ahead of the rest and it’s very difficult to see him being beaten. 9/2 best price for a national looks crazy but seriously is this horse the next Red Rum?

If looking down the list for a viable each way alternative I would suggest a small e/w play on 40/1 shot BLAKLION. The horse has got good form in the race and is now in the care of Phillip Kirby. He has had a great season but really needs a big winner like this to really put him on the training map. This would represent a great chance of making it happen.

Today’s Free Tip

FELIX MENDELSSOHN 8/1

The stable are just hitting top form and this horse has a great chance today. He comes out top of our ratings and looks to be running into some kind of form. I think he will be there about at the business end.

The Whitbread Drinks Could Be On Or In The Blaklion

It’s a question of who wants it more in today’s live matches in the Premier League. Stoke’s need is greater than Liverpool’s at Anfield and Swansea are more desperate for points when they play at home against Chelsea. In predicting the outcome of these two matches it’s a balancing act between desire and ability. We are not suggesting players will not be trying but motivation is a driving force and in pinpointing who that affects most could provide help predict the outcome of these fixtures.

Stoke should have the fight to stay in the match against Liverpool as they have let in just two goals before half time in last 12 matches.  Roma looked quite comfortable for 20 minutes in the Champions League but then Liverpool scored five goals without reply. They were brilliant for a big chunk of the match but then the levels of desire dropped and Roma scored two late goals. Jurgen Klopp might not send out his strongest team but his side should eventually do enough and the DRAW/LIVERPOOL option pays 16/5 with William Hill.

Swansea are right back in the relegation dog fight after no wins in six fixtures in the Premier League. They were in trouble when the new manager was appointed and he had the desired affect. However, in recent matches they have again found their level which means they are still facing the nightmare scenario of dropping into the Championship with all its financial implications. Even though Chelsea can still finish fourth that is an unlikely scenario, In this case motivation can help SWANSEA win three vital points and that outcome is 6/1 with Ladbrokes.

It’s the finale of the jumps seasons in Britain and Ireland and all the prizes will be handed out at Sandown and Punchestown. The big betting race of the day is the bet365 Gold Cup which to many people of a certain generation is still the Whitbread. Altior is the best horse in action at Sandown today and Apple’s Jade is the star of the Punchestown show and the double pays 7/4. You won’t get rich combining these horses but BLAKLION can be backed at 7/1 with Coral to win the race formerly known as the Whitbread.

Blaklion Is The National Bet

The Grand National is the people’s race and the one day in the year when the man on the street goes to the races. It is the longest race in the calendar and still the ultimate test for horse and rider. The fences are more forgiving and in recent years there has been a reduction in the number of horses that don’t get round. In good ground it’s a tough assignment to finish but the degree of difficulty increase when the going is soft. There has been plenty of rain in the Aintree area so there will be a heavy ground National. That means more horses will be pulled up and a low number of finishers. The tip for the race is BLAKLION at 14/1.

The novices’ chase at 3.00 is a good opportunity for Petit Mouchoir. He is by some distance the best horse in the field on form over hurdles and fences. The tactics were wrong at Cheltenham where Footpad took advantage and Petit Mouchoir finished third. That was still a reasonable effort in the context of today’s race so PETIT MOUCHOIR should be backed at 8/15 with Ladbrokes. The stayers’ hurdle gives SAM SPINNER a chance to make up for not winning at Cheltenham and the best price is 6/4 with bet365. It’s then the greatest race in the world.

There are three live matches in the Premier League today so it will be a betting bonanza. Liverpool begin their home fixture with Bournemouth at 5.30 which is 15 minutes after the Grand National starting time. The race is the most watched in the world so you would hope for a good race with no casualties. There could be less than 10 finishers but hopefully one of those will be Blaklion and the horse will be the first past the finishing post.
