Its been a decent couple of weeks on the tipping front for Bankers Bonus and Fold4Gold with both finding Al Salador in the Irish Cesarewitch at an s/p of 25/1 and who paid 50/1 on Betfair and 9.40 for a place. Fold4Gold also found Treve at 12/1 the previous Sunday in the Arc.
I was particularly pleased with Al Salvador as he is trained by the superb Aiden O’Brien and the average price of his winners this Season is about 3/1.
I don’t think many if any other tipster would have found you that one at such a rewarding price. Also the gelding owned by Aidens wife was ridden by the trainers youngest son Donnacha and you will be hearing a lot more about this young talented lad.
For those of you who were not on either of the above two big winners they were available free on my Bankers Bonus Twitter page.
Many people have been making enquiries about my win/place Betfair system and without giving too much away at this stage over the last three weeks to a £50 level stake that is £10 on the win market and £40 on the place market the profit is £1,447 and before you ask yes it can be infallible if played to my guidelines.
All I will say is it’s plain common sense stacking your stake heavily in favour of the place and with 20% of your stake on the win part of the bet as it gives you a huge advantage over the bookmaker, of course I can’t guarantee you or your current advisor will find you horses to back like Al Salvador but you would still be betting from a position of power.
Moving on to today’s Howies Hottie I’m going for the 4.45 Lingfield with Nelson Of The Nile. It’s a low grade handicap over just short of 2 miles. The race seems to lack a genuine front runner which might play into the hands of the jolly Alba Verde however Nelson has bits and pieces of decent form and I like lightly weighted 3 year olds at this time of year.
On breeding Nelson on the Nile is not guaranteed to see out the staying trip but then Red Rum was bred to be a sprinter but at juicy odds its worth the risk.
I like to think I’m an innovator and I have an idea that could be of great interest to Betfan, all tipsters, all punters and many charities.
Its called Last Man Standing (or Woman)
1. You pick a football team for the weekend games and forecast the result.
2. That team must win.
3. If your team wins you go forward to make a selection for the following week.
4. You can’t pick the same team again.
5. Last person standing wins and we then start another cycle.
Now the important bit I propose Betfan set the entry at £5 or £10 and half the proceeds go to the winner and half to a charity ie Injured Jockeys, Retired Greyhounds, Ebola, Cancer research, Great Ormond Street, etc.
I’m certain with all BetFan’s contacts the pot could be huge for the winner and what a boost for wonderful causes. Anyway it’s an idea to ponder.
Also we could also do something similar on the horse racing front.
I would be very interested in all your views.
La Banderilla trainer J.Gosden – Has just joined Gosden from France and ran very well after a period on the side lines. She could be winning soon especially on soft ground.
Top Tug trainer Sir M.Stoute – Badly drawn at Newmarket and had to race wide however noted making good late headway.
Winter Lion trainer D.G.Hogan – Led into the straight in the Irish Cesarewitch and a drop back in trip could be the answer
Arty Campbell trainer B.Llewellyn – Has now qualified for hurdle handicaps and can win one at the smaller tracks.
Back next Wednesday have a good week and be lucky.
