It was a good day for clients yesterday as we won 2 bets from 4. STORMFLOWER just got there @ an sp of 16/1 and DAVID JOHN hacked up @ 3/1 despite the low Sedgefield sun and a damaged hurdle turned a jumping contest into a flat race with 3 hurdles. We had previously backed DAVID JOHN after being told to expect him to leave all previous form behind.
Even the 2 horses that lost ran really good races with PLYMOUTH SOUND also leaving previous form behind to finish fastest. With a clear run may well have got closer @ 14/1. In the end the horse had just been left too much to do.
So a good day all round. Not a bad time to join the service as we have some great bets lined up for the rest of this month. Also last November was our 2nd biggest winning month of the year it could well happen again this year. Not forgetting that we have some great bets lined up for the champions weekend at Ascot.
The biggest news in racing this week is Claire and Paul Rooney pulling all of their horses from Donald McCain. To the press the split is all above board and they have been quoted as saying they just want to spread the risk. Donald had a fairly poor season by his standards. He still trained them 40 winners and put them 3rd in the most winning owners list. At this point all we can do is speculate but it does appear rather strange that this has happened at this point of the season. I guess the biggest question is why would some horses not be left with McCain if they are genuinely risk spreading?
Next week there will be another 5 horses to follow for the jump season with some really exciting novices. So watch out for that!
